Bolungarvík

Cross one of Iceland’s longest tunnels (5.5 km) and arrive at Bolungarvík, a remote fishing village tucked between towering cliffs and the sea. With just 1,000 residents and one of Iceland’s oldest ports, it’s a hidden gem rich in history and charm.

The Bolafjall platform

Just 3 years ago, Bolungarvík opened its boldest attraction: a cliff-edge viewing platform atop Mount Bolafjall, 628 meters above sea level. Suspended by 60 tons of steel, it offers thrilling views over the village, dramatic fjords, and even, on clear days, all the way to Greenland. Dare to step out and see Iceland from above!

Ósvör Maritime Museum

Step back in time and discover how Icelanders fished before motorboats and harbors. In Bolungarvík, learn how brave fishermen rowed into icy waters and how farmers became seafarers during the winter months. A powerful glimpse into Iceland’s rugged past and deep bond with the sea.

The Óshólar Lighthouse

This striking red-and-white lighthouse stands proudly above Iceland’s dramatic coastline, offering panoramic views of the wild North Atlantic. A true hidden gem, it’s the perfect stop for travelers seeking a picture-perfect moment and a deeper connection with the raw beauty of the Icelandic coast.

Dynjandi waterfall

Is the main symbol of the Westfjords, known as “the bridal veil” for the white blanket that the water creates on the rocks, it is for many the most beautiful waterfall in Iceland, it lacks fame since it is not found on the common tourist routes, it is a hidden gem among the westfjords to which common tourists do not usually reach, but this strategic stop at the port of Isafjordur makes it possible to access this wonder of Nature.
